1 O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!

I often wonder why Mormon chose to insert this beautiful prayer of Alma right here.

When did Alma offer it? When he met Ammon and the others outside Zarahemla (when Ammon had 'come to'?)

I love how Mormon organizes this book. I believe every part, section and chapter (or order) was deliberately and carefully placed where it was, and that if I prayerfully studied the patterns in the placement, and the deeper meaning behind Mormon's choices, I would learn on a deeper, more spiritual level, what Mormon, and God, would hope I would discover.
