1 Now it came to pass that when those Lamanites who had gone to war against the Nephites had found, after their many struggles to destroy them, that it was in vain to seek their destruction, they returned again to the land of Nephi.
2 And it came to pass that the Amalekites, because of their loss, were exceedingly angry. And when they saw that they could not seek revenge from the Nephites, they began to astir up the people in anger against their brethren, the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi; therefore they began again to destroy them.
They were trying to seek revenge? Why? Why would someone want their perceived enemy to seek revenge? Why did they want them to get angry and fight them? I guess I don't understand the ways of war. Did they hate them so much that they sought any reason to fight them so they could kill some? That seems like the worst extreme of hatred, trying to fight against the best extreme of love. That is crazy!
I'd like to say I know how this is going to turn out- but- it's not what I want to or hope to read, every time I get to this point. "Therefore, they began again to destroy them."
April- remember it's not the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end yet. For everything will be okay in the end for those who love God. Everything.
(This must be how the adversary fights against me. Tries to get me to get angry and fight. Good to know!)
